There are many different types of bed sheets available, but some of the coziest, ideal for those cold winter nights are fleece sheets. Whether you opt for all natural wool fleece sheets or one of their synthetic cousins fleece sheets are hard to beat for comfort and warmth. The fact that they are usually a very affordable bedding option as well is simply an added bonus. Not all fleece sheet sets are created the same though. Here are some of our favorites:
Sunbeam Fleece Sheets – Sunbeam are one of the best known manufacturers of fleece bed sheets. The majority of the sheets that are sold under the Sunbeam name are polyester rather than wool but they are still soft and comfy to the touch. One of the best things about the Sunbeam line of fleece sheets is the sheer variety that is available. From solids to multicolor, leopard and zebra prints and everything in between there is something to suit any taste. Sunbeam fleece sheets are sold at many major retail outlets, including JC Penney, Sear and Kmart and prices can be as low as $19.99
Cabelas Polar Fleece Sheets – Cabelas – the hunting supply specialists – sell their own line of fleece sheets that were originally designed to keep outdoor sportsmen warm and cozy so it’s a safe bet that they work very well in the bedroom as well. These sheets are exceptionally soft and come in four different colors – chocolate, dark green, taupe and ivory. $39.99 gets you a full fleece sheet set with one fitted sheet, one flat sheet and two pillowcases.
Snuggle Polyester Fleece Sheets – These sheets seem a little more lightweight than some of the others on the market but are actually just as warm once on the bed. They are also great value for money if you buy them at the right place. We were able to find a full set – two sheets and two pillowcases – for just $11.99 at Overstock.com
Split the Sheets Fleece Sheets – These “as seen on TV” fleece sheets are actually quite ingenious. The fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillowcases are all split with polar fleece on one side of the sheets and cotton on the other. The idea, say the manufacturers, is that couples who feel the heat differently at night can both be comfortable while sleeping. The sheets come in four different color choices – white, blue, green and natural – and can be purchased at the company’s website at splitthesheets.com. These are not the cheapest of fleece sheets though; a queen size sheet set is over $80.
Safdie Queen Size Therapeutic Fleece Sheet Set – We have not been able to determine why these sheets are dubbed “therapeutic” but there is no denying the fact that they are soft and warm. One of the nicest things about them from an aesthetic standpoint id the silk border trim which features patterns that coordinate perfectly with the solid colored body of the sheets. You can buy a Safdie Queen Size Therapeutic Fleece Sheet Set at Sears for $69.99 for a full set.
